Cooperative Rewards FAQ

Question linkWhat is Cooperative Rewards?
  • Your electric cooperative’s voluntary demand response program is designed to reward members for reducing their electricity use during periods of high demand, while helping the reliability and affordability of the electric grid.
  • Program participants agree to brief, limited events which adjust their thermostats during peak electric demand periods from August 1st, 2018 through May 25th 2019. During the first summer season (August 1st, 2018 - October 31, 2018), adjustments may be called between 1 and 7pm up to 15 times. During the winter season (November 1st, 2018 - March 31st, 2019), adjustments may be called between 6 and 10am up to 10 times. During the 2nd summer season (April 1st, 2019 - May 25th, 2019), adjustments may be called between 1 and 7pm up to 5 times. Adjustments will not occur on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
  • Your electric cooperative is offering this program to members who have a qualifying internet-connected thermostat controlling their central air conditioning or heat pump.
  • Participants will receive a $40 bill credit per household (if enrolled by September 15th) after being accepted into the program and a $40 bill credit per household at the end of the program season for participating. You must participate in at least one adjustment to receive the $40 bill credit at the end of the program season.
